Shelby Healey’s Studio
I am an artist from England now based in the Canary Islands. I moved here five years ago and the natural beauty of Tenerife has been my source of inspiration during this time. I am fascinated by the quirky shapes and colour combinations that appear in nature and aim to convey this in my paintings. I begin each picture by building up layers of paint and then work back into it, projecting images on to the canvas, painting around negative shapes and creating patterns. My objective is to create something that asks to be looked at indefinitely.
