David Cocagne's Studio
David Cocagne became interested in music and guitar while his family was on foreign assignment in Venezuela, South America. He gave his first public performance in Puerto La Cruz, Venezuela in 1983 at the age of 14. Upon return to the United States, David began formal studies on classical guitar while in high school. He later attended Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, where he received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees under the direction of Joe Fava and Lee Dyament.
Mr. Cocagne is currently an active performer and teacher in the Detroit area. His earlier performing groups, most notably the Feisty Cadavers, were rock bands featuring David on electric guitar. His current group, The Troubadours, is an acoustic world music ensemble focusing on original compositions and arrangements. David Cocagne is also an experienced instructor and on the music facalties of Wayne State University and Oakland Community College.
